NEW ‘DLU SUMMER SPIRIT TROUPE CHALLENGE’ – JOIN US FOR OUR VERY FIRST SUMMER HOLIDAY TROUPE EVENT!
For the first time, our January SOLO Finals Event will feature a Troupe event entitled ‘SUMMER SPIRIT TROUPE CHALLENGE’ across genres including Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Any Style. Whether you’re a studio or school group, this is your chance to bring your dancers together, compete for exciting prizes, and start the year with a BANG!. Don’t miss this exciting NEW EVENT on Saturday, 25th January 2025 at THE GOVERNOR’S CENTRE, MOORE PARK with workshops offered across 23-25th January also!
Kick off your 2025 DANCE SEASON with the DANCELIFE UNITE’S NEW ‘SUMMER SPIRIT TROUPE CHALLENGE!’ A fun-filled, high-energy event designed to unite your dancers, celebrate team spirit, and showcase their incredible talent as the NEW DANCE YEAR!
Genres available for entry include:
- Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Any Style
We will also accept expressions of interest in Ballet/Demi Character and Tap for separated sections, though these genres can also be entered under “Any Style.”
Age groups have been streamlined for this new event as follows:
- Petite (5-8yrs), Pre-Teen (9-12yrs), Senior (13-16yrs), Open Age (all Ages)
For School Dance Groups, we offer the following categories:
- Primary Dance (Years 3-6): Any Style
- High School (Years 7-12): Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Any Style
If entries for school groups are low, we may combine them with regular studio group sections and will discuss this option with the relevant school coordinators.
Troupe Entry Fees & Dancer Registration:
Troupe entries for this event will be the same as our regular REGIONAL TROUPE entry fees i.e. $60+gst per troupe. Each dancer will still need to purchase a Dancer Registration Pass at $75+gst (Mini/Petite) & $85+gst (Junior & above), which includes participation in four amazing workshops per age group (Junior & Senior) led by world-class choreographers, as well as access to all events and performances. So this event is a ‘HYBRID’ event – like a REGIONAL but with awesome WORKSHOPS for your dancers to enjoy!!
Event Dates:
The dates for Troupe performance is 25th January 2025 however there will be workshops available across the preceding days also.
Competition format:
As a new offering, it is likely that entries for troupes may be more limited so it will be run more like a regular ‘regional’ with DLU ‘Dollars’ as prizes and overall highest point-scoring cash prize/s which will be determined based on entry levels. The event will be titled ‘DLU SUMMER SPIRIT CHALLENGE’.

You MUST REGISTER EACH OF YOUR DANCERS to complete your entries. You do NOT need to register all your dancers straight away, however you MUST ensure they are all registered by 30th December, 2024. EACH TROUPE MEMBER MUST BE REGISTERED. PLEASE NOTE IF PERFORMER IS REGISTERED AS A SOLOIST THE DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER AGAIN.
REGISTRATION FEES (until 30th December, 2024):
- Mini&Petite Dancers (i.e. 8yrs & U – NO WORKSHOPS included) $75+gst
- Junior & Above Dancers (includes workshops) $85+gst
Registration entitles each performer to a PERFORMER’S WRISTBAND (as per syllabus) which must be worn at all times on the performer’s RIGHT WRIST across the entire Event
REGISTER ONLY ONCE PER PERFORMER – The Performer’s Wristband (Registration) allows the performer to:
- Perform on Stage
- Spectate any section (includes Grand Final)
- Participate in all relevant workshops (except Minis & Petites)
*NB If a MINI or PETITE DANCER would like to participate in workshops, they must purchase a Junior & Above Dancers’ Pass
Performers Wristbands will be AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION @ DANCELIFE UNITE NATIONALS by either the Studio Director or nominated Studio representative. INDIVIDUAL WRISTBANDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT TO DANCERS – PLEASE ENSURE YOUR STUDIO REPRESENTATIVE COLLECTS AND DISTRIBUTES ALL DANCER WRISTBANDS, FIXING THEM FIRMLY TO THE RIGHT WRIST.
