SOLO, DUO/TRIO & PROTEGE NATIONAL FINALS – JANUARY 2025
The DanceLife Team is excited to welcome you to the 2025 SOLO NATIONAL FINALS! The event will be held from 22nd to 25th January 2025 at The Governor’s Centre, Moore Park, Sydney.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
Qualification: To enter, you must have qualified at either a live or online event. Protégé competitors must have participated in Regional Championships and qualified by competing in at least three Finals sections plus the Protégé National Championship.
Protege National Championship – To enter this section, you MUST have registered, qualified, and entered at least 3 Solos (Improvs do not count as qualifiers) before being eligible. The Protégé National Championship routine can be of Any Style and must be a different routine from your solo sections (except for MINI 6&U or PETITE 8&U, where a dancer may repeat a routine).
IF YOU HAVE NOT QUALIFIED ONLINE ENTRIES ARE OPENED UNTIL 30TH NOVEMBER.
NEW FOR THIS SEASON:
Apprentice (Novice/Restricted) Solos: We are introducing Apprentice Solos at all DLU events for novice or restricted-level dancers.
Celebrity (Elite/Open) Solos: We will continue offering Celebrity Solos for elite-level dancers.
Qualification Points:
- Celebrity Level dancers must score 80 points or above to qualify for National Finals.
- Apprentice Level dancers must score 75 points or above to qualify for National Finals at their level.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Dancers do not need to compete in the same genre at Nationals as they did at heats—what matters is the number of routines qualified at heats.
- Dancers competing in Protégé Championships at Celebrity Level or Apprentice Championships at Apprentice Level in heats can now perform unlimited solos at Nationals in their respective levels.
- Dancers who compete with 3 or fewer routines in heats can enter up to 3 sections at Nationals in their level (Celebrity or Apprentice), plus Improvisations.
- Protégé or Apprentice Championships must be entered at regional or online heat levels to qualify for those sections at National Finals.
TITLES @ DLU NATIONALS FOR ALL GENRES:
Title Awards: This is not an extra performed section. Instead, it is a nomination for consideration for a Title Award in the relevant genre category for your age group.
Dancers may nominate themselves for as many Title Awards as they like in the sections entered, but may win a maximum of 2 Titles.
MODELLING: We will contact all Model entrants closer to the Event to forward there final Photos – 1 Head shot and 1 Body Shot.
WORKSHOPS & REGISTRATION: This will automatically be added to soloist entries in entry process.
Every dancer must purchase a Performer’s Wristband. Registration includes programming, insurance, spectating (including Grand Final), and workshops for relevant age groups.
MINI (6&U) & PETITE (8&U): Registration without workshops is $75+gst. Dancers wishing to participate in workshops can add this for $10.
JUNIOR (9+) & ABOVE: Registration, including workshops, is $85+gst.
MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS:
National Grand Champion Titles: Soloists competing for Major Grand Champion Titles must enter the Protégé Championship by competing in at least three Finals sections and the Protégé National Championship.
Prize Pool: Over $50,000 in cash, scholarships, sponsored prizes, and international travel opportunities!
USA International Scholarship: Available for SENIOR & PRE-PRO Protégé dancers, offering extensive training in Los Angeles. This is a separate section from the Protégé Championship and can include a repeated routine from the season.
STEPS TO ENTER:
REGISTER as a National Final Performer (cost: $75+gst for MINIs/PETITEs without workshops, or $85+gst for JUNIORS & above).
ENTER the sections you wish to compete in separately.
- Solos: $85+gst
- Duo/Trio: $95+gst
- Protégé: $95+gst
- Improvisation: $45+gst
- Title Award: $25+gst
ADDITIONAL KEY NOTES:
You don’t need to compete in the same genre at Nationals as in your qualifying event.
Protégé Championships must be entered at the regional or online level to compete at Nationals.
Performer’s Wristbands are mandatory and will be available for collection at check-in.
By entering a DanceLife Unite event, you confirm that you have read and accepted the Terms & Conditions and are willing to adhere to all updated Covid-Safety plans and protocols.
AGE CALCULATION:
All dancers’ ages are based on 1st January 2024, as this National Event relates to the 2024 season.
ENTRY DEADLINES:
Entries for Solo, Duo/Trio, and DLU National Dance-Model Search Finals will close when sold out.
SHIPPING AND HANDLING FEE:
A $20.00+GST ‘Shipping and Handling’ Fee will be added at checkout for dancers registering in this entry. This covers administration relating to programming for DanceLife Unite Finals and includes all communication and programming aspects for this event. Please ensure that you enter ALL ENTRIES (including ‘FACE OF BLOCH’) & TITLES at the SAME TIME so that you are not charged again for the DANCER REGISTRATION & SHIPPING & HANDLING FEE which will automatically apply to each entry.
